Fixture Design: Design and fabricate custom grips fixtures and jigs to accommodate unique or non-standard test specimens.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze raw stress-strain data calculate material properties (such as Youngs Modulus yield strength ultimate tensile strength and elongation) and author comprehensive technical test reports.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all testing procedures strictly adhere to relevant international standards (ASTM ISO DIN etc.) and internal company quality protocols.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance troubleshooting and coordinate external calibration for UTMs load cells extensometers and environmental chambers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D Product Design and Quality Assurance teams to interpret test results investigate material failures and guide material selection.
Continuous Improvement: Develop and optimize automated testing scripts (using software like Bluehill TestSuite or LabVIEW) to improve lab efficiency and data accuracy.
Technical Skills
UTM Software Proficiency: Deep familiarity with testing software such as Instron Bluehill MTS TestSuite or ZwickRoell testXpert.
CAD Tools: Proficiency in SolidWorks Autodesk Inventor or Creo for designing custom test fixtures.
Material Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of the mechanical behavior of materials (metals plastics composites elastomers and ceramics).
Instrumentation: Experience using extensometers strain gauges load cells and digital image correlation (DIC) systems.
