Job Summary
The Project Manager Shipbuilding is responsible for the end-to-end management of shipbuilding projects ensuring timely delivery adherence to budget quality standards and overall project objectives. The role involves coordinating engineering production procurement commercial and support functions while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Develop and execute comprehensive project plans covering scope schedule and resource allocation.
Ensure projects are completed on time within budget and according to quality standards.
Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers technicians and subcontractors.
Foster effective communication and collaboration across project teams.
Budget Management
Prepare and manage project budgets.
Track expenses and ensure financial accountability.
Identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
Change Order Management
Establish and manage change order processes.
Ensure all project changes are documented evaluated approved and communicated.
Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
Provide regular project updates.
Manage client expectations and address project-related concerns.
Quality Health Safety & Environment (QHSE)
Ensure compliance with quality standards and client specifications.
Conduct quality inspections and audits.
Enforce health safety and environmental regulations.
Promote a safe working environment throughout project execution.
Risk Management
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Implement corrective actions for unforeseen challenges.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with local national and international maritime regulations and standards.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain project documentation including:
Progress reports
Change orders
Project deliverables
Present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
Continuous Improvement
Conduct post-project reviews.
Capture lessons learned.
Recommend and implement process improvements for future projects.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering or a related field.
Masters degree in Project Management or MBA is an advantage.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.
Experience
10 years of project management experience in shipbuilding or manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience managing large-scale engineering projects and cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
Required Skills
Strong project management expertise.
Knowledge of scheduling resource allocation and risk management.
Deep understanding of shipbuilding processes and production workflows.
Leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Budgeting financial tracking and cost control.
