Job Summary

Project Manager – IT Projects (BFSI Domain)

Role Description

IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering IT projects in the Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) domain. The role demands hands-on experience in managing end-to-end project lifecycles stakeholder coordination and ensuring timely delivery aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Manage definition of scope objectives and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans along with the Project team and manage execution across phases including initiation design development testing and deployment.

Stakeholder Management

Engage with internal teams vendors and business units to ensure alignment and timely communication. Maintain governance through steering committee meetings and escalation matrices.

Risk & Issue Management

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Track issues and ensure timely resolution to avoid project delays.

Documentation & Reporting

Ensure comprehensive documentation including BRDs project charters status reports and risk logs. Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure adherence to internal standards RBI guidelines and IT Project governance frameworks. Support audit and compliance activities as required.

Team Coordination

Lead cross-functional teams including developers testers and business teams. Delegate tasks and monitor progress to ensure milestones are met.

Required Skills

ü Strong understanding of BFSI operations and IT systems

ü Proficiency in project management tools (JIRA MS Project)

ü Familiarity with Agile Waterfall and Hybrid methodologies

ü Excellent communication leadership and stakeholder engagement skills

ü Ability to manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations

Qualifications

ü PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred

ü 4–5 years of experience in IT project management with at least 2–3 years in BFSI projects

Preferred Experience

ü Exposure to core banking systems ERP integrations (e.g. Oracle Fusion) and digital transformation initiatives.

ü Experience in managing compliance-related projects (e.g. RBI directives)

ü Familiarity with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow and cloud-based infrastructure projects

This role is aligned with strategic initiatives within Breakthrough such as Project Novus FedOne and Unified Credit Card Module and will involve coordination with internal and external teams
