Program Manager EMS
Job Summary
The Program Manager Operations will be responsible for planning leading and executing customer programs from operational and commercial perspectives ensuring delivery of products and services in line with customer requirements quality standards cost targets and committed timelines.
The role will drive cross-functional program execution across operations manufacturing engineering quality supply chain procurement finance and customer teams. The Program Manager will establish program priorities monitor schedules and budgets manage risks and resources resolve operational issues and ensure achievement of business and customer objectives.
The role will also identify opportunities for operational improvement process optimization new product introduction technology development and business growth.
Lead end-to-end operational execution of assigned customer programs.
Establish program objectives deliverables milestones schedules resource requirements and execution plans.
Monitor and control program schedules budgets capacity resources risks dependencies and deliverables.
Ensure on-time delivery in accordance with customer commitments and agreed program milestones.
Establish and implement operating procedures practices processes and program-management guidelines.
Track program performance through appropriate KPIs dashboards reviews and management reports.
Identify operational risks and issues proactively and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure effective coordination between manufacturing engineering quality supply chain procurement finance and other support functions.
Drive successful execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfer programs.
Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams for product readiness process readiness capacity planning tooling equipment materials and production requirements.
Ensure smooth transition from development to production while meeting quality cost and delivery objectives.
Monitor manufacturing capacity and resource requirements and initiate actions to address capacity constraints.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity cycle time cost quality and delivery performance.
Support implementation of Lean Six Sigma operational excellence and process-improvement initiatives.
Act as the primary program interface between customers and internal cross-functional teams.
Understand customer requirements delivery commitments priorities and escalations and translate them into actionable internal plans.
Lead regular program reviews with customers and internal leadership.
Provide timely visibility on program status risks capacity delivery quality cost and recovery plans.
Build strong customer relationships and ensure effective resolution of operational and program issues.
Manage escalations and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver timely solutions.
Work closely with supply chain procurement planning and suppliers to ensure material availability and continuity of production.
Monitor long-lead items critical components supplier risks shortages and material constraints.
Drive recovery plans for supply-chain disruptions affecting customer commitments.
Coordinate demand capacity inventory and production planning to support program requirements.
Support supplier performance improvement and escalation management where required.
Establish and monitor program budgets costs margins and financial performance.
Ensure program execution is aligned with approved financial and business objectives.
Identify cost-reduction and productivity-improvement opportunities.
Support commercial discussions contract reviews change requests and customer negotiations.
Coordinate with finance commercial procurement and business teams on program-related financial matters.
Monitor and manage the financial impact of scope changes delays material issues and operational risks.
Plan organize and manage the work of cross-functional program teams.
Ensure appropriate allocation and utilization of people equipment manufacturing capacity and other resources.
Establish clear priorities responsibilities deliverables and performance expectations.
Provide leadership and direction to program teams to achieve operational and customer objectives.
Foster collaboration and effective communication across functional teams.
Identify opportunities for technology process product and manufacturing improvements.
Work with engineering and R&D teams to develop practical solutions to complex operational and technical problems.
Support investigation and implementation of new technologies and manufacturing processes.
Identify opportunities to improve product quality manufacturability productivity cost and reliability.
Contribute to technology roadmaps and strategic operational improvement initiatives.
Support business development activities by providing operational inputs for new opportunities and customer programs.
Support proposals RFQs capability presentations cost estimates and customer engagements.
Evaluate operational feasibility capacity resources technology and investment requirements for new programs.
Identify opportunities for expanding existing customer programs and developing new business.
Support strategic initiatives aligned with organizational growth and operational excellence.
Bachelors degree in Electronics Electrical Mechanical Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Masters degree or MBA in Operations Technology Supply Chain or Business Management is preferred.
815 years of relevant experience including significant experience in program management operations manufacturing NPI or engineering within electronics aerospace automotive EMS or high-technology industries.
Demonstrated experience managing complex cross-functional customer programs.
Strong experience in program planning scheduling budgeting capacity planning resource management risk management and customer management.
Experience working closely with manufacturing engineering quality supply chain procurement and finance functions.
Experience in NPI product transfer production ramp-up or manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and EMS operations.
Experience in NPI PCBA/box-build manufacturing product transfer DFM/DFT manufacturing engineering or production ramp-up.
Strong knowledge of program governance and project-management methodologies.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent negotiation communication presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
Strong customer-facing and escalation-management capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience working with global customers and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in MS Office and project-management tools.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and PLM systems is desirable.
