Purpose of the Job

The Product Manager Inverter Business will be responsible for end-to-end management of the inverter product portfolio including residential commercial hybrid off-grid and on-grid solar inverters. The role involves product strategy market research product lifecycle management pricing channel support technical coordination and profitability management.

The objective is to build competitive high-quality and profitable inverter products aligned with customer needs and market trends.



Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Develop short-term and long-term inverter product roadmap.
  • Manage complete inverter portfolio:
    • On-grid inverters
    • Hybrid inverters
    • Off-grid inverters
    • Micro inverters
    • Three-phase commercial inverters
  • Identify market gaps and new product opportunities.
  • Define product positioning and USP against competitors.


2. Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Conduct competitor benchmarking on:
    • Features
    • Pricing
    • Efficiency
    • Warranty
    • Technology
  • Track industry trends in:
    • Solar storage
    • Smart monitoring
    • AI-based energy management
    • EV integration
  • Gather dealer distributor EPC and customer feedback.


3. Product Development & Technical Coordination

  • Coordinate with R&D sourcing engineering and OEM partners.
  • Define product specifications:
    • Capacity range
    • MPPT design
    • Efficiency
    • Battery compatibility
    • Communication protocols
  • Ensure compliance with BIS IEC MNRE and safety standards.
  • Participate in product testing and validation.


4. Pricing & Profitability

  • Develop pricing strategy based on:
    • Competition
    • Market demand
    • Cost structure
    • Margin targets
  • Monitor product profitability and contribution margin.
  • Work with procurement to optimize BOM cost.


5. Go-To-Market (GTM) Execution

  • Launch new inverter models across India.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams for:
    • Product training
    • Launch campaigns
    • Technical presentations
    • Dealer education
  • Prepare product literature:
    • Datasheets
    • Comparison sheets
    • Installation manuals
    • FAQ documents


6. Sales & Channel Support

  • Support sales team in large projects and technical discussions.
  • Conduct dealer and distributor product training programs.
  • Resolve pre-sales technical queries.
  • Assist service team in recurring field issues.


7. Product Lifecycle Management

  • Track product performance after launch.
  • Monitor failure rates and customer complaints.
  • Plan product upgrades and phase-outs.
  • Improve customer experience and product reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • / BE in Electrical Electronics Power Electronics or related field.
  • MBA preferred.


Experience Required

  • 512 years experience in:
    • Solar inverter industry
    • Power electronics
    • Solar EPC
    • Renewable energy products
  • Experience handling inverter product portfolio preferred.
