Product Design Engineer

Bring your energy to Aggreko as Product Design Engineer. In this role you will be a specialist mobile and modular generator design engineer part of a team focusing on diesel powered products.

As part of a specialist mobile and modular generator design team focusing on diesel powered products you will be the experienced Product Design Engineer. Providing detailed design drawing support to innovative designs you will be responsible working within the mechanical team to produce the models to internal and international standards.
What youll do:
Design product modifications and produce the conceptual layouts and the manufacturing drawingson in-house developed generator products including CAD drawings and 3D models.
Model conceptual layouts of complex and compact packaged mobile modular generator arrangements(engine mounting cooling system fabrications pipework control panels and enclosures).
Create and maintain accurate Bill of Material and part specificationsfor efficient supply and assembly of Aggreko manufactured products.
Detailed modelling of all mechanical elements of design conforming to internal and external design standards.
Ensuring accuracy of drawings and construction of technical design filewith respect to the design deliverables and held within the required document management system.
Source the new components required and ensure that they are suitablefor the proposed applications considering technical limitations and cost and modify product designs accordingly.
Provide technical support for the product during manufacture and subsequently during field operations.
You are:
Engineering degree preferably Mechanical
Experience: 5 years of experience in resolving issues and optimizing commercial use of technologies/components.
Have thorough understanding of designing processes in complex engineering equipment development and experience in a heavy/medium engineering environment.
Should be proficient in CAD systems specifically Creo and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of engineering systems and processes (PLM MRP Engineering change control international standards component selection NPD).
Be thorough in attention to detail and high technical integrity and accept personal responsibility for meeting cost quality and timescale targets.
Have the ability to manage multiple projects organize work and prioritize to meet deadlines alongwith ability to balance quality reliability and cost-effectiveness.
