Product Cost Manager

Responsibilities:

• Identify and drive product cost improvement actions by working with a cross-functional team (notably Product Management Engineering Procurement Operations and Finance)
• Conduct Teardown analysis of UPSs and analyze Should costing to understand product cost structure (Sheetmetal Plastic enclosures cables PCBs etc)
• Develop product cost comparisons to evaluate and benchmark manufacturing locations and suppliers
• Prepare and deliver presentations on product cost targets key cost drivers and supporting cost reduction activities
• Monitor product costs during the NPDI process and throughout the product lifecycle to identify and act on variances
• Identify and pursue continuous improvement projects that deliver improved VCM (Variable Cost Margins) for non-product related cost reductions. E.g. Warehouse overhead reduction Scrap and Warranty returns reduction Supply chain improvements etc

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical degree; Electrical Engineering is preferred
• 7 plus years experience in VAVE Supply Chain or Manufacturing
• Experience with new product development processes and activities is preferred
• Demonstrated competence in problem solving data analysis & project management
• Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations of insights and recommendations supported by data analysis
• Experience developing cross-functional and cross-regional relationships to achieve business objectives
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel PowerPoint PowerBI) Smartsheet and other business applications Creo AutoCAD expertise preferred.
• Excellent communications skills written & verbal
