Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Network Switching / LAN Technology Engineer with 6-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise LAN networks switching troubleshooting and network operations. The candidate will be responsible for designing configuring maintaining and troubleshooting LAN switching infrastructure while ensuring network availability performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
Design configure implement and maintain LAN switching infrastructure in enterprise environments.
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco switches including access distribution and core switches.
Strong knowledge of VLANs trunking STP/RSTP/MSTP EtherChannel/LACP and inter-VLAN routing.
Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching issues.
Work with VTP DHCP Snooping Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI) Port Security and related LAN security features.
Perform switch configuration upgrades patching and hardware replacement activities.
Troubleshoot network connectivity packet loss latency broadcast storms and switching loops.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve LAN-related issues.
Work with routing protocols such as OSPF BGP and EIGRP as required for LAN connectivity.
Perform network changes incident resolution root-cause analysis and problem management.
Use network monitoring and troubleshooting tools to analyze network performance and connectivity.
Maintain network documentation topology diagrams configurations and operational procedures.
Coordinate with network security server and application teams for issue resolution.
Follow change-management incident-management and network security processes.
Mandatory Skills
6-8 years of experience in Network Switching / LAN Technologies.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Switching.
Excellent knowledge of VLAN Trunking STP/RSTP/MSTP EtherChannel/LACP.
Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
Experience with TCP/IP ARP DHCP DNS ICMP and basic network protocols.
Hands-on experience in network troubleshooting and incident resolution.
Knowledge of enterprise LAN architecture and network security best practices.
