Job Summary
Key Responsibilities & Duties Assembly & Fitting:
Assembling new machinery and fitting parts together according to technical blueprints and specifications.
Maintenance & Repair:
Performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting broken equipment to minimize downtime.
Precision Work:
Using hand and power tools (drills grinders lathes) to cut file and shape metal components with high accuracy.
Inspection:
Inspecting machinery and components for faults wear and tear or compliance with safety standards.
Safety Compliance:
Adhering to safety regulations (OSHA or local standards) while operating tools and assembling parts.
Documentation:
Recording maintenance activities and reporting work progress to supervisors.
Required Skills and Qualifications Certification:
ITI Certificate in the Fitter trade (usually a 2-year NCVT-approved course).
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of mechanical systems metal properties and engineering drawing interpretation.
