IT- Sr Systems Engineer

Job Description

Position Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Four Year degree (Computer Science Information Systems or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
• 6-8years of professional experience in the field of Information Technologyand preferably in EDA industry
• Experience with Windows & Linux system admin performance fine tuning compiler optimization registry changes system Environment kernel tcp/ip fine tuning. Knowledge of cpu/memory internals and processes would be an advantage.
• Operating system platform technology knowledge from major vendors and open source solutions including Linux LSF Slurm Elastic SearchJenkinsetc.
• Experience with Cloud Computing architecture in a hybrid model will be a significant benefit.
• Should have good scripting knowledgeand DevOps skills for automation tasks
• Hands-on experience and Good knowledge with troubleshooting various user job issues in a Compute farm.
• Should have good communication skills both verbal and written
• Should be self-driven and dynamic in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Skills

• Provide Day to Day Farm support to Windows & Linux based Compute Farm (OnPrem & Cloud)
• Able to support the system upgrades and work load migrations acceptance testing and maintenance.
• Able to understand R&D specific requirements and current technology trends.
• Virtualization & Cloud knowledge would be an advantage.

Specific Ongoing Duties

• Provide system/farm storage and networking expertise for timely resolution of R&D user issues in compute farms.
• Work closely with R&D user community to improve user productivity and farm resource utilization.
• Regular knowledge transfers to direct team and cross-functional peers in IT.
• Automate the repeated activities to create bandwidth.
• Work with global teams in different time zones to achieve common goals.
