Job Summary

  1. Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure construction activities comply with local environmental laws and international standards (e.g. ISO 14001).
  • Monitor environmental permits and reporting obligations.
  1. Risk Assessment:
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments (air water soil noise) at construction sites.
  • Recommend mitigation measures for impacts related to dust noise and hazardous waste.
  1. Waste Management:
  • Oversee proper disposal and segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Promote recycling and environmental sustainability practices on-site.
  1. Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Monitor air water and soil quality near construction areas.
  • Prepare environmental reports incident logs and audit documentation.
  1. Training and Awareness:
  • Train workers and subcontractors on environmental policies and practices.
  • Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness.
  1. Incident Investigation:
  • Investigate environmental incidents (e.g. spills leaks) and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain a record of non-conformities and implement preventive measures.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers site engineers and regulatory bodies.
  • Liaise with environmental consultants and third-party auditors as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Degree or diploma in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH ISO 14001:2015 EMS Auditor/Lead Auditor or equivalent HSE qualifications.
  • Experience: 6 years in HSE with focus on environmental safety preferably in the construction sector.
  • Skills: Knowledge of local environmental regulations strong reporting communication and training skills.
