Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Law Department aligning goals with the institutes overall mission.
- Design review and update curricula to meet contemporary legal standards accreditation requirements and market needs.
- Lead faculty recruitment development and performance evaluation; foster a collaborative and researchfocused environment.
- Oversee daytoday academic operations including timetabling examination scheduling and grading processes.
- Promote and support research initiatives publications seminars moot courts and community outreach programs.
- Manage departmental budget resource allocation and infrastructure development.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations accreditation bodies and internal policies.
- Represent the department in internal committees external conferences and liaison activities with legal institutions.
- Mentor students on academic and career pathways fostering professional ethics and leadership skills.
Essential Qualifications
- Master of Laws (LL.M.) from a recognized university.
- UGC-NET qualification in Law is essential. Candidates with a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with applicable UGC Regulations may be exempt from the NET requirement where those regulations apply.
- SET/SLET qualification is desirable or may be required where prescribed by the respective State Government or affiliating university.
- Ph.D. in Law is highly preferred.
- Minimum 56years of teaching experience in higher education including leadership or administrative responsibilities.
- Demonstrated record of research publications academic contributions and participation in conferences/seminars.
Desired Experience & Skills
- Experience in curriculum development accreditation processes and academic program evaluation.
- Track record of securing research grants and managing collaborative projects.
- Ability to cultivate industry partnerships internships and placement opportunities for students.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and modern pedagogical tools.
- Strong organizational abilities and aptitude for strategic planning.
