Job Summary

Summary:
The Telesys STP Engineer plays a critical role in the deployment configuration and integration of Telesys Signal Transfer Point (STP) platforms within telecom core networks. This position is essential for ensuring robust high-availability SS7 signaling infrastructure that supports seamless interconnection across mobile networks. The engineer will be responsible for designing and maintaining signaling routes optimizing traffic distribution and troubleshooting complex signaling issues. With expertise in SS7 and Diameter protocols the role supports both legacy and evolving 4G/5G architectures enabling smooth interworking between core network elements such as MSC HLR SMSC and IN. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen hands-on experience with STP platforms and a deep understanding of signaling protocols and network optimization in dynamic mission-critical environments.

Location: Bangalore Hyderabad Delhi NCR Chennai

Responsibilities:
  • Design install configure and commission Telesys STP nodes in production environments
  • Configure point codes linksets routes and Global Title Translation (GTT) tables
  • Set up and manage SS7 signaling links (A-links B-links C-links) and ensure optimal signaling performance
  • Develop and maintain MOPs (Method of Procedure) and implementation artifacts for software upgrades and network changes
  • Integrate STP with core network elements including MSC HLR SMSC IN and signaling gateways
  • Support legacy SS7 interworking scenarios and facilitate smooth transitions to modernized network architectures
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of the SS7 protocol stack: MTP Level 1/2/3 SCCP (connectionless and connection-oriented) and TCAP (basic operations)
  • Implement and manage routing logic based on IMSI MSISDN and GT patterns using E.164 E.212 and E.214 numbering plans
  • Diagnose and resolve signaling failures using trace analysis log reviews and protocol-level debugging
  • Utilize tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump for in-depth signaling traffic inspection and troubleshooting
  • Optimize routing tables and balance signaling load across STP nodes for improved performance and reliability
  • Conduct health checks capacity planning and performance analysis to ensure high availability and efficient resource utilization
  • Support the evolution of signaling infrastructure from 2G/3G to LTE and 5G including MAP and MAPDiameter interworking concepts
  • Work with bare-metal virtualized and cloud-based platforms (KVM VMware Kubernetes-based CNFs)
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for automated and reliable STP deployments

Requirements
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in telecom signaling and STP platform deployment
  • Proven experience with Telesys STP platforms in carrier-grade environments
  • Expertise in SS7 protocol stack (MTP SCCP TCAP) and signaling interworking scenarios
  • Strong understanding of E.164 E.212 E.214 numbering plans and GT translation principles
  • Demonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot routing logic based on subscriber and network identifiers
  • Proficiency in using Wireshark tcpdump and other signaling analysis tools
  • Experience in high-availability STP configurations and performance optimization
  • Familiarity with 2G/3G/4G/5G signaling architectures and MAP/Diameter interworking
  • Exposure to virtualized and cloud-native network functions (CNFs) using KVM VMware and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices in telecom network deployments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams across locations including Bangalore Hyderabad Delhi NCR and Chennai
