We are seeking a skilled Physical Access Control & Video Management Systems (VMS) Specialist with expertise in Genetec Security Center and Synergies to support critical security infrastructure across Shell sites. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability performance and security of integrated video surveillance and access control systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system configuration troubleshooting upgrades and migrations while adhering to ITIL and agile methodologies. The position requires round-the-clock availability including shifts and weekend support to maintain uninterrupted operations across global sites. This role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding assets and enabling secure efficient site operations.
Responsibilities:
Configure Genetec Security Center and Synergies for Video Management Systems (VMS) and Access Control Systems (ACS) at Shell sites.
Resolve L2-level incidents and perform root cause analysis for system issues.
Execute application and database upgrades with minimal downtime.
Lead and support server migration activities for VMS and ACS platforms.
Test program and troubleshoot digital video and access control systems.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders customers and technicians on system operations and support.
Conduct configuration reviews to ensure compliance scalability and optimal system performance.
Adhere to ITIL frameworks including incident change and problem management processes.
Participate in Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new integrations and solution enhancements.
Apply agile methodologies to support iterative development and deployment cycles.
Be available to work flexible shifts including nights weekends and on-call duties as required.
Requirements
Proven experience in physical security systems including access control and video surveillance.
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Genetec Security Center and Synergies.
Strong working knowledge of SQL including database administration (SQL Server 2012 and 2014).
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and IP-based security devices.
Certification in Genetec Security Center and Synergies (preferred).
In-depth knowledge of digital IP cameras security hardware and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with access control systems and related hardware components.
Proficiency in Windows Server administration and application/database support.
Demonstrated experience in managing application and database upgrades.
End-to-end familiarity with ITIL processes: incident change and problem management.
Prior experience working in shift-based or round-the-clock support environments.
Willingness to provide weekend support for planned maintenance and activities.
