Job Summary

Position Summary
  • Position Title: Global Resin Commodity / Strategic Sourcing Leader

  • Reporting To: Regional Resin Commodity Head Asia

  • Location: Pune India

  • Experience Required: 8 to 15 Years

  • Industry Focus: Tier-1 Automotive Manufacturing / Industrial Polymer Sourcing

Key Responsibilities 1. Sourcing Strategy & Global Portfolio Management
  • Analyze direct raw material data available on internal corporate portals to architect deploy and govern the overall global resin and polymer category strategy.

  • Take direct ownership of design alignment and structured negotiation for group-level global framework sourcing agreements and enterprise contracts.

  • Maintain complete accountability for global pricing performance tracking raw material market indices and projecting cost variances to mitigate commercial risks.

2. Value Engineering & Cross-Functional Synergy
  • Drive global supplier consolidation and champion Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) frameworks across different group companies to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

  • Practice Advanced Cost Modeling Should Costing / Zero-Based Costing to rigorously evaluate vendor cost structures review price adjustment requests and back supplier negotiations with empirical data.

  • Actively collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (R&D Design Manufacturing Quality) and automotive OEMs to implement design-level improvements and support New Product Development (NPD).

3. Supply Chain Governance & Risk Mitigation
  • Oversee full-lifecycle supplier onboarding performance evaluations and routine compliance tracking in strict accordance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management standards.

  • Establish business continuity and risk mitigation playbooks to safeguard plant operations during force majeure instances or supply chain bottlenecks.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications Educational Qualifications (Mandatory)
  • / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering Chemical/Polymer Engineering or a related technical discipline.

  • Post-Graduate certifications or an MBA in Supply Chain Management or Operations from a reputable institute is highly desirable.

Technical & Domain Experience
  • A minimum of 8 to 15 years of strategic procurement experience within a high-volume Tier-1 Automotive Manufacturing setup.

  • Deep commercial subject matter expertise in sourcing raw chemical indices explicitly including resins engineered polymers plastics and industrial paint/coatings.

  • In-depth exposure to handling complex global contract frameworks international container costing and complex logistics Incoterms.

  • Hands-on proficiency operating with enterprise tools specifically SAP MM / SAP S/4HANA Ariba or equivalent global ERP procurement modules.
