Job Summary
This position is critical to ensuring structural integrity dimensional accuracy and timely delivery of precast components by leading a team of 100 skilled tradespeople across cutting welding bending and mold assembly operations.
The Supervisor is responsible for interpreting complex engineering drawings and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) translating them into fully assembled rebar cages and custom molds with zero tolerance for error. With a relentless focus on safety quality control material efficiency and operational excellence the Supervisor ensures seamless workflow execution across the fabrication floor while maintaining compliance with project specifications ISO standards and safety regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of 100 welders cutters fitters and fabricators in a high-throughput precast workshop environment.
- Interpret and implement structural drawings Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) and engineering specifications with 100% accuracy.
- Ensure all rebar cages and custom molds are fabricated to exact dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols conducting daily safety briefings and audits to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
- Optimize material usage and minimize waste through efficient cutting plans rebar layout strategies and inventory control.
- Coordinate with project engineers site supervisors and quality assurance teams to resolve technical discrepancies and ensure alignment with design intent.
- Monitor production schedules identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to maintain on-time delivery.
- Train mentor and evaluate team performance fostering a culture of accountability precision and continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed fabrication logs inspection records and compliance documentation for audit readiness.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related technical field.
- 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in rebar fabrication with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role on large-scale precast infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in reading and interpreting structural drawings BBS and engineering specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of welding standards (e.g. AWS D1.4) steel fabrication codes and quality control procedures.
- Proficiency in using fabrication software (e.g. AutoCAD Tekla Structures) and digital documentation systems.
- Valid certification in welding supervision or site safety management (e.g. OSHA NEBOSH or equivalent) is highly preferred.
