Engineer Plant Layout & Piping Design (On Fixed Term Contract)
Job Summary
Role Definition:
The role is responsible for independently executing assigned engineering activities within plant layout and piping design ensuring high-quality deliverables in line with project requirements.
The position typically functions as an Area Engineer or Area Lead with accountability for executing assigned work independently while coordinating effectively with relevant stakeholders.
Key Role and Responsibility:
Functional Competencies:
- Execute assigned tasks within defined parameters with minimum guidance from the Lead Engineer.
- Prepare high-quality deliverables within the agreed budget and schedule taking full ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Identify discuss and resolve interface issues with other engineering disciplines.
- Apply client international and company standards during engineering execution.
- Interpret PFDs P&IDs vendor drawings and other project inputs and implement them accurately in detailed design.
- Demonstrate proficiency in S3D PDMS and E3D for plant layout and piping design activities.
- Use AutoCAD MicroStation SPR Navisworks and similar tools effectively for design review and deliverable preparation.
- Extract 2D drawings and piping isometrics from S3D or E3D models.
- Prepare and check material take-offs as required for project execution.
- Check piping isometrics for technical accuracy completeness and compliance with project requirements.
Leadership Competencies:
- Coordinate effectively with internal disciplines global suppliers clients and project management consultants.
- Represent departmental interests professionally with internal stakeholders.
- Lead small projects or act as Area Lead for assigned design areas.
- Demonstrate experience as a team member on at least two small to mid-size projects.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Preferred Skillset/Software:
- Ability to execute assigned plant layout and piping design areas as well as small projects independently.
- Working knowledge of PDMS E3D S3D MicroStationSPRNavisworks and related engineering design tools.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 510 years of experience in plant layout and piping design for Reformer Fired Heater petrochemical chemical or similar process industries with a good understanding of applicable codes regulations and engineering practices for facility design.
