Job Title: Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Operations Head

Reports To: Plant Head

Job Summary

The DGM – Operations Head will lead and oversee all manufacturing operations ensuring safe efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining the highest standards of quality compliance and productivity. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence continuous improvement and cross-functional coordination to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day plant operations to ensure production targets are achieved.
  • Develop and implement production plans aligned with business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP (where applicable) EHS statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve productivity reduce costs and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor plant KPIs including OEE yield capacity utilization quality and production efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Quality Supply Chain Procurement and Engineering teams for seamless operations.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of manpower machinery and raw materials.
  • Lead process optimization and continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
  • Manage production budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Build mentor and develop production teams while fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with ISO standards and other applicable regulations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • 12–18 years of experience in chemical manufacturing operations with at least 5 years in a leadership role.


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in specialty chemicals agrochemicals petrochemicals paints or fine chemicals.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma TPM or Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Experience handling statutory inspections and regulatory audits.
