We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Commis 1 - South Indian to join our culinary team in Mysuru this entry-level kitchen position you will work under the guidance of senior chefs to prepare authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and kitchen organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a collaborative kitchen environment while specializing in traditional South Indian cuisine.

• Prepare and cook South Indian dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients including washing peeling chopping and portioning
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently including stoves grills and specialized South Indian cooking tools
• Maintain a clean organized and hygienic workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
• Support senior kitchen staff with food preparation and plating tasks
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality and taste
• Assist in inventory management and report on ingredient usage to kitchen supervisors
• Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen processes and efficiency

Qualifications :

• Proficiency in South Indian cooking techniques and traditional preparation methods
• Knowledge of South Indian ingredients spices and their culinary applications
• Strong knife skills and safe food handling practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with kitchen staff
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food quality standards
• Prior experience in a professional kitchen environment (preferred)
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain one (preferred)
