The Change and Integration Management Engineer is responsible for governing executing and continuously improving integration release and application lifecycle management processes across Alcons enterprise SAP landscape.
This role ensures stable compliant and high-quality system changes through effective transport management SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM and Solution Documentation) and the enterprise transition to SAP Cloud ALM. The engineer partners closely with SAP Basis delivery teams and business stakeholders to enable seamless releases integrations and environment coordination supporting reliable business operations and ongoing digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Release & Change Management
- Execute SAP ChaRM Change Manager activities for projects and production support
- Define and plan release scope sequencing and deployment strategy based on approved changes
- Assess technical and functional impacts of changes (customizing and development) to safeguard production stability
- Establish and maintain change cycles release and outage calendars and governance standards
- Manage retrofit activities across parallel system landscapes
Transport & Landscape Management
- Oversee end-to-end SAP transport management across all environments using Transport Management System
- Manage transport sequencing dependencies and conflict resolution across projects and support streams
- Perform SAP landscape housekeeping to maintain system integrity consistency and compliance
- Coordinate system refreshes upgrades and installations in collaboration with SAP Basis and Infrastructure teams
SAP Solution Manager & Cloud ALM
- Administer and support SAP Solution Manager with a strong focus on ChaRM and Solution Documentation
- Provide guidance and bestpractice support to project and operations teams on Solution Manager usage and governance
- Support the enablement and transition to SAP Cloud ALM aligning enterprise application lifecycle management processes
Integration & Governance
- Ensure effective integration across SAP systems and dependent technologies within the enterprise landscape
- Support enterprise release governance and ERP template compliance globally
- Review technical designs and solutions recommending improvements aligned with SAP standards and enterprise architecture principles
Cutover & Deployment Support
- Plan and execute cutover activities including mock cutovers rehearsals and golive readiness assessments
- Provide hypercare support during major releases and deployments
- Manage and communicate system outages release notifications and deployment status to stakeholders
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as a key coordination point between functional technical Basis and infrastructure teams
- Communicate change status risks dependencies and issues clearly and proactively to stakeholders
- Support internal and external communications related to releases integrations and system changes
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP environments including project delivery and/or production support
- Hands-on experience with:
- SAP Solution Manager (strong emphasis on ChaRM)
- SAP Transport Management System (TMS)
- SAP release change and integration management processes
- Experience in SAP configuration development or functional roles (preferred)
- Proven experience supporting complex SAP landscapes (ECC S/4HANA or hybrid environments)
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud ALM (preferred)
- Experience in regulated or validated environments (e.g. SOX GxP) is a plus
- Working knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Agile Waterfall or hybrid)
