Job Summary
Role Overview
AECOM India is seeking a highly seasoned Business Development Lead to spearhead critical pursuits and client engagement across Gujarat and the Western India region. This role is ideal for a senior market-facing professional with deep-rooted client relationships exceptional credibility with decision-makers and a proven ability to independently originate shape and close complex opportunities across public and private sectors.
The position will play a pivotal role in establishing and scaling AECOMs regional presence in Ahmedabad acting as the face of the firm with key clients stakeholders and influencers.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Market Leadership
- Lead and drive high-value strategic business development pursuits across Gujarat and Western India.
- Develop and execute regional BD strategies aligned with AECOM Indias growth priorities.
- Identify early-stage opportunities and shape them into bankable pursuits through proactive client engagement.
- Build and nurture long-term pipelines across infrastructure energy industrial urban development and advisory segments.
Client Relationship & Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor and primary relationship owner for key public and private sector clients.
- Cultivate senior-level relationships with government bodies PSUs developers investors and large corporates.
- Maintain a strong external presence through frequent client meetings industry forums and regional networks.
- Represent AECOM as a credible long-term partner in the region.
Pursuit Leadership & Internal Collaboration
- Lead critical pursuits by coordinating with internal technical commercial and leadership teams.
- Provide market intelligence client insights and competitive positioning to pursuit teams.
- Support proposal strategy pricing discussions and negotiations from a client-value perspective.
- Work independently while seamlessly integrating with national and global BD leadership.
Regional Office & Platform Building
- Play a key role in establishing and scaling AECOMs regional platform.
- Act as an anchor for future BD resources in the region.
- Strengthen AECOMs brand visibility and credibility in Western India.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong client relationship and influencing skills with a proven ability to unlock opportunities.
- Good working knowledge of engineering EPC models and infrastructure project lifecycles (concept to execution) without needing deep technical specialization.
- Ability to operate independently and drive outcomes in an unstructured evolving environment.
- Strong understanding of public and private sector dynamics particularly in Western India.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for building and scaling a regional presence.
- High executive presence credibility and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively and maintain a highly external-facing role.
Qualifications :
20 years in business development client leadership or strategic sales leadership.
Relevant exposure to EPC engineering infrastructure industrial energy or adjacent sectors is important. Experience engaging in large capital projects and complex B2G & B2B environments is strongly preferred.
