Job Summary

BIM Lead – PEB Design Team

Location: Chennai Experience: 5–10 Years Reporting To: Head of Design / Chief Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a BIM Lead to own the end-to-end BIM-to-Build pipeline for our Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) design team from parametric Revit/Tekla modelling to fabrication-ready shop drawings quantity take-offs and site coordination. This is a leadership role demanding both technical depth and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Role in the Team

The BIM Lead sits at the intersection of design engineering and execution within the PEB design team. You will:

Act as the single point of accountability for all BIM deliverables across projects.

Work directly under the Head of Design / Chief Engineer and collaborate with structural engineers estimation leads procurement managers and site execution teams.

Guide and mentor a team of BIM modellers and detailing engineers setting quality benchmarks and enforcing BIM standards across the team.

Bridge the gap between design intent and construction reality ensuring every model translates accurately to fabrication and erection on site.

Drive BIM adoption and process improvements across the design team championing a model-first>

BIM certification (Autodesk Certified Professional Tekla Certified User or equivalent) is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit and/or Tekla Structures parametric family creation shared parameters and model management.

Hands-on experience with Navisworks (Quantification & Timeliner) for clash detection and 4D simulation.

Strong working knowledge of 5D BIM workflows model to BOQ to BOM to cost integration.

Solid understanding of PEB structural systems: primary and secondary framing purlins girts bracing cladding systems and base plate connections.

Proficiency in fabrication drawing standards and shop drawing preparation for steel structures.

Good command of MS Excel for quantity validation cost logic and reporting.

Knowledge of Dynamo for workflow automation is an added advantage.

Experience

5–10 years of total experience in BIM/structural detailing with at least 2 years in a BIM leadership or ownership role.

Proven track record delivering quantity-driven BIM models and execution-ready shop drawings on PEB or steel structure projects.

Prior exposure to modular prefab or industrial construction environments is preferred.
