Qualifications
Dell EMC (Storage Layer)
- Dell EMC Storage Systems (e.g. PowerStore / Unity / Data Domain)
- Storage Pools LUNs File Systems (NAS/SAN)
- Snapshot & replication capabilities
- Deduplication appliances (Data Domain if applicable)
- Veeam Backup & Replication Server
- Backup Proxies & Repositories
- Integration with Dell EMC storage
- Backup for Virtual Physical & Cloud workloads
- Workload Coverage Virtual Environment
- VMware / Hyper-V VMs
- VM image-based backups
- Application-aware processing
- Windows & Linux workloads
- File system & volume-level backups
Responsibilities
Storage Team (Dell EMC)
- Provision and configure Dell EMC storage (PowerStore / Unity / Data Domain)
- Create storage pools LUNs NAS shares for backup repositories
- Configure snapshots & replication (local / DR site)
- Enable Data Domain (DD Boost) integration (if applicable)
- Monitor storage capacity performance & utilization
- Ensure high availability & storage health
2. Backup Team (Veeam Core Owner)
- Design backup architecture & policies
- Install & configure:
- Veeam Backup Server
- Backup Proxies
- Backup Repositories
- Integrate Veeam with Dell EMC storage & hypervisors
- Configure:
- Backup jobs (VM physical applications)
- Retention policies & backup copy jobs
- Implement:
- Immutable backups (hardened repository / object lock)
- Encryption & security controls
- Monitor jobs resolve failures & ensure SLA compliance
- Perform backup & restore validation
- Provide reporting dashboards & SOPs
