About the department

The Online Reliability Services Software Development team builds customer-facing digital products that improve equipment reliability and performance for cement producers worldwide. As Fuller Technologies expands its in-house software development capabilities this growing team offers a unique opportunity to influence technology engineering culture and future product innovation.

About the Role

As a Backend Developer II you will design develop and maintain scalable backend services that power our global Online Reliability Services (ORS) platform. You will build cloud-native applications APIs and IIoT data services that enable reliable connectivity between industrial equipment cloud platforms and digital solutions.

In this role you will independently deliver high-quality software features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to continuously improve platform performance scalability security and operational reliability.

Your responsibilities

• Design develop test and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

• Build cloud-native applications supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) connectivity and data processing.

• Develop reliable machine-to-cloud data integration services.

• Optimize backend performance scalability availability and maintainability.

• Design and implement database structures and data processing workflows.

• Participate in software architecture discussions and technical design reviews.

• Contribute to CI/CD automation monitoring and production support activities.

• Investigate and resolve production issues using structured root cause analysis.

• Apply secure development practices throughout the SDLC including IEC 62443 cybersecurity principles.

• Collaborate with frontend developers DevOps engineers product managers and domain experts to deliver integrated solutions.

• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.

• Support continuous improvement of development standards tooling and engineering practices..

You bring

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology Engineering or a related technical field.

• 4 years of experience in backend software development building and supporting scalable production applications.

• Strong programming experience with Java Python C# or comparable backend technologies.

• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs distributed applications and microservices-based architectures.

• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases data modeling and backend data-management principles.

• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies CI/CD pipelines source control and modern DevOps practices.

• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.

• Working knowledge of secure software development practices and cybersecurity principles; exposure to industrial or IIoT cybersecurity is an advantage.

• Strong systems thinking analytical troubleshooting and complex problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve application and platform issues.

• Ability to translate technical requirements into reliable maintainable and scalable software solutions.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering product and other technical teams.

• Experience working in global and cross-functional environments is an advantage.

• A quality-focused and continuous-improvement mindset with strong ownership and accountability.

• Fluent English both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
