In this role you will:
- Assist in implementing the Global Stress Testing Framework.
- Assist in the execution of the quarterly Wholesale Internal Stress Test exercise
- Develop new stress testing tools supporting bottom-up Stress Testing capabilities and methodology enhancements.
- Manage the relationship with regional Stress Testing teams other group WCR and Business teams.
- Undertake and support the VP in review analysis and reporting of the expected credit loss / loan impairment numbers and provide insightful trends analytics and forecast for future periods. Manage the LIC reporting related book of work
- Ability to articulate trends in PDs LGDs EADs and ECLs in terms of modelling and non-modelling drivers of the Wholesale portfolio and relate to macroeconomics methodology credit policy
- Assist the VP in planning manage and execute the overall WCRM CoE Wholesale impairment runbook delivery operating model and governance including enhanced documentation to SOX controls standards. Ensure full compliance to Group policies and governance and controls framework in line with internal and external stakeholder expectations
- Responsible for internal/external audit SoX controls and any other support required for regulatory engagement.Maintaining well-regarded thoughtful communications with principal stakeholders.
- Lead various developments in stress testing tools management and calculation of ECLs under IFRS9 in the absence of readily available IT solutions.
To be successful you will:
- Risk Professional with over atleast 7 years of banking experience or equivalent and a thorough knowledge and experience of IFRS9 Stress testing or management of large regulatory change in HSBC or a large bank is essential.
- Good understanding of Impairment related processes including systems models and reporting aspects across credit risk and finance functions.
- Strong problem-solving/analytical abilities needs to be able to distil complex problems into manageable parts and plan work accordingly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex information in clear and structured way to suit audience.
- Good knowledge of credit risk models (PD LGD EAD Staging and ECL) both in terms of development/validation/monitoring practices and downstream usage of modelled outputs by business/finance/risk will be an advantage.
- Ability to effectively work with global and regional teams in Risk Finance and relevant Transformation functions.
- ACA/ACCA/CISI/CF qualified relevant professional qualification or relevant advanced degree
- Knowledge of data analytics tools (SAS and/or SQL and/or Python and/or R etc.) Strong Excel skills
- Business knowledge of credit risk/impairments/stress testing will be preferred
- Analytical thinking (ability to draw conclusions / critical insights from data)
