The Team :

The Environmental Markets pricing and market reporting team is a global highly collaborative group of reporters covering Environmental Markets spanning from carbon credits RECs biomethane and more across London Gurgaon Penang Singapore Mexico and Houston.

We are looking for a motivated and driven market reporter to cover Asian carbon markets who values collaboration curiosity a strong investigative mindset.

The Impact

In this role you will support daily price assessments and market coverage for Asia carbon markets contributing to greater transparency in one of the most dynamic areas of the energy transition.

Responsibilities:

  • Publish daily price assessments in line with Platts methodology
  • Gather and maintain information through daily engagement with market sources to support robust assessments
  • Cover day-to-day market-moving developments in the Asia carbon market
  • Write market commentaries and rationales delivering daily coverage of key market trends
  • Create additional digital and audio content (e.g. podcasts) explaining fundamental drivers behind price movements
  • Contribute to the development of new assessments as market structures and products evolve
  • Support and lead engagement meetings to identify issues for market participants and translate insights into product enhancements or adjustments to Platts offerings
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to Platts Editorial Standards
  • Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Platts Environmental Markets offerings and strategy

Basic Required Qualifications

We are seeking someone who is curious about energy and carbon markets and can work to tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate is proactive shows strong ownership and brings a sense of urgency in tracking market changes.

They should be accountable foster a positive and collaborative team environment and be adept at market engagementcomfortable representing Platts externally.

Must-Have Skills
  • Graduate degree in journalism finance economics environmental science or a related field
  • Working understanding of commodity markets
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to engage and build sources with external market participants
  • Ability to write clear accurate market reports analysis commentaries and rationales on deadline
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Working understanding of Environmental Markets
  • Experience in price assessment and/or coverage of commodity market
  • Understanding of Platts assessments and methodology parameters
