Lead the transformation of data and AI from a support function into a strategic force that shapes how we
compete decide and deliver for patients worldwide.
Your new role
As Associate Director Data Analytics & AI Strategy you will define and execute the organisation's data
analytics and AI agenda – turning complex information into the insights that drive commercial performance
portfolio decisions and customer engagement. This is a role where strategic vision meets hands-on leadership:
you will build advanced analytics capabilities champion AI-driven innovation and partner directly with senior
leaders to influence enterprise-wide decision-making.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Defining and driving a business-aligned Data Analytics & AI strategy and multi-year capability
roadmap advising senior leadership on transformation opportunities while embedding an AI-first
data-driven culture across the organisation
Translating strategic business priorities into analytical frameworks and predictive models that deliver
measurable impact across brand strategy portfolio planning customer engagement market access
forecasting and competitive intelligence
Building and leading a high-performing multidisciplinary team of data scientists AI specialists
analytics professionals and business insight experts through hiring coaching upskilling and
succession planning
Establishing data governance frameworks quality standards and compliance requirements while
partnering with Digital Data & IT teams to ensure scalable architecture and responsible AI practices
Identifying prioritising and deploying AI/ML use cases – including generative and agentic AI – that
create measurable business value and improve decision quality
Building partnerships with technology vendors analytics partners and industry experts while
continuously scanning emerging trends in AI healthcare analytics and digital transformation
Fostering a team culture rooted in psychological safety cross-functional collaboration inclusivity and
shared accountability – where experimentation is encouraged and lessons from failure drive
improvement
Your new department
In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy medical affairs and business development across
all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained
competitiveness upstream and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and
competitive launches downstream.
You will join Strategic Marketing & Insights at P&PS GBS where we drive commercial strategy medical
communications congress excellence and evidence generation across our key therapy areas – Diabetes
Obesity and Rare Diseases. The team works closely with partners in Denmark the US and Zurich interfacing
upstream with R&D and Product Supply and downstream with Regions and this role you will
elevate the function's strategic influence and build the capabilities that keep Novo Nordisk at the forefront of
data-driven decision-making.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a strategic leader who combines deep technical expertise with commercial acumen and the
ability to inspire high-performing teams in a complex global environment. You will bring:
Master's degree in Data Science Analytics Statistics Computer Science Engineering Economics
Business or a related field; focus on data analytics and AI in life sciences or pharmaceuticals is an
advantage
12 years' experience in Data Science Analytics AI Commercial Excellence or Strategy with pharma
or life sciences domain experience preferred
5 years of leadership experience building and developing high-performing teams with a proven
ability to influence senior executives and drive transformation programmes
Strong technical fluency across advanced analytics data engineering predictive modelling machine
learning AI (including generative and agentic AI) and business intelligence/visualisation
Demonstrated track record working in global and/or regional environments with the ability to
navigate cross-functional and matrix structures mobilise stakeholders and make decisions under
ambiguity
Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent communication and relationship management
skills
