Role: Assistant Manager Uniform Sourcing & Distribution
Job Summary
To manage end-to-end sourcing procurement inventory management and distribution of uniforms for cabin crew ground staff and operational personnel ensuring high standards of quality cost efficiency and timely availability aligned with brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Uniform Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify evaluate and onboard uniform suppliers fabric vendors and manufacturers.
- Lead negotiations on pricing contracts quality and delivery timelines.
- Develop strategic sourcing plans to optimize cost and quality.
- Ensure vendor compliance with aviation safety sustainability and ethical sourcing standards.
2. Product Development & Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with design teams to develop and finalize uniform specifications.
- Oversee fabric selection fittings sizing trials and sampling approvals.
- Ensure uniforms meet durability safety comfort and brand standards.
- Conduct periodic quality audits and manage defect resolution with vendors.
3. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Manage uniform inventory across warehouses and distribution centers.
- Implement stock planning and replenishment strategies to avoid shortages or excess.
- Track lifecycle of uniforms (issue replacement wear & tear).
- Ensure accurate inventory records and reporting through ERP systems.
4. Distribution & Logistics
- Oversee end-to-end distribution of uniforms to employees across all stations.
- Manage logistics partners for timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure onboarding kits are delivered to new employees as per joining schedules.
- Streamline reverse logistics for replacements resizing and returns.
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with HR Cabin Crew Ground Operations and Training teams.
- Act as a single point of contact for all uniform-related requirements.
- Address employee feedback and complaints related to fit quality or availability.
6. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Track procurement spend and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement measures to reduce wastage and optimize lifecycle costs.
7. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and audit requirements.
- Maintain documentation for contracts orders and vendor performance.
- Support internal and external audits related to procurement.
8. 100% availability of uniforms for onboarding and reissuance
9. Cost optimization and vendor efficiency improvements
10. High employee satisfaction on uniform quality and availability
11. Timely distribution across all operational locations
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong procurement & negotiation skills
- Knowledge of textiles(preferred) apparel sourcing and quality control
- Expertise in inventory & supply chain management
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP)
- Strong stakeholder management & communication skills
- Problem-solving and process improvement mindset
Good to Have
- Experience handling multi-location distribution
- Understanding of branding impact in uniforms (especially aviation)
- Exposure to sustainability practices and eco-friendly fabrics
Educational Qualification
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Textile Fashion or related field (MBA preferred)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in uniform sourcing / apparel procurement / supply chain
- Prior experience in aviation hospitality retail or large workforce industries is preferred
