Assistant Manager, Commodity Management & Sourcing
Job Summary
Work Schedule: 6 days a week (Alternate Saturdays off)
- Supplier identification: Evaluate and onboard suppliers aligned with new product requirements.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with R&D engineering and manufacturing teams to align sourcing strategies with design intent.
- Cost analysis: Conduct cost modeling benchmarking and negotiations to achieve target cost objectives.
- Risk management: Identify supply chain risks early and develop mitigation plans.
- Supplier performance: Monitor supplier quality delivery and compliance during prototype and pilot builds.
- Contract management: Negotiate terms agreements and long-term supply contracts for new products.
- Process improvement: Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes tools and supplier engagement models.
- Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies standards regulations or laws.
- Create cost reduction roadmap on/before the product launch for next years
- Steel Copper Plastics EPS Rubber Motors Valves Accumulators Hardware background with previous factory experience.
- Proficient in understanding 3D and 2 D drawings
- Experience in driving Supplier qualification programs and supplier process improvements.
- Good knowledge of Purchasing disciplines and ERP systems (SAP Oracle etc.)
- Well equipped with knowledge of PPAP FMEA APQP & QC Tools
- Comfortable with figures and in collecting analyzing and interpreting data.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Value engineering skills (VAVE should-cost analysis benchmarking)
- Customer Focus and understanding of market trends
- Product Management & Product Benchmarking
- Proactive and result oriented
- Ability to work in multi-tasking and a multi-cultural environment
- Developing and fostering relationships with Suppliers while driving lower costs superior performance and continuous improvement
- Interpersonal and interdepartmental Coordination skills
- Established Commodity / Account Management & Strategic Sourcing professional. Executes contracts in accordance with sourcing goals and acceptable service levels. Analyzes supplier data and price proposals to ensure acceptable pricing quality timing and reliability of supply.
- Participates in negotiations for the procurement of goods services and supplies.
- Executes purchasing and / or other commodity management activities.
- Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge obtained through a University degree combined with experience
- Practical knowledge of Carrier organization programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work
- University Degree or equivalent
- 6-9 years of relevant experience
- Manages contracts in accordance with sourcing goals and acceptable service levels.
- Analyzes price proposals financial reports and other data and information to help determine reasonable prices.
- Research suppliers to ensure that the organizations standards of price quality timing and reliability of supply are met.
- Researches and consolidates buyer/market profiles to ensure database is administered and kept up to date.
