As Assistant Manager - Supply Chain you will play a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of castings and machined components that support Weirs manufacturing operations. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with foundries machining partners and cross-functional teams to drive supplier performance improve delivery reliability and strengthen our supply chain capabilities. What youll do
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
  • Supplier Development & Vendor Management: Develop and manage relationships with casting and machining suppliers to ensure consistent performance across quality delivery cost and capacity requirements.
  • Casting Procurement & Supply Assurance: Manage procurement activities for castings and machined components while ensuring uninterrupted supply to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Supplier Follow-up & Expediting: Drive supplier accountability through regular follow-ups production tracking and proactive resolution of delivery bottlenecks.
  • Supplier Site Management: Conduct frequent visits to foundries and machining vendors to monitor production progress support development activities and ensure compliance with quality and delivery expectations.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with manufacturing quality engineering planning and sourcing teams to resolve operational challenges and support business objectives.
  • ERP & Process Excellence: Utilize SAP and procurement systems to manage purchase orders supplier performance inventory requirements and reporting activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve supplier performance reduce lead times optimize costs and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.

What youll bring
Must haves
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8-12 years of experience in Supply Chain Procurement Vendor Development Sourcing or Supplier Management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience working with foundries castings machining vendors and supplier development activities.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes casting production supplier quality and procurement practices.
  • Strong communication stakeholder management negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to supplier locations and vendor facilities.

Nice-to-haves
  • Experience in valve pump mining heavy engineering or industrial manufacturing industries.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP systems and procurement modules.
  • Experience managing supplier quality development programs and manufacturing supply chains.
  • Exposure to high-volume manufacturing environments and complex supplier networks.
