About the Role:

Location: Pune Maharashtra OR Noida U.P.

Work Model: Hybrid (On-site presence required 3 days a week)

Minimum Qualification: MSc PhD or equivalent advanced degree

The Assistant Editor is responsible for managing manuscripts throughout the editorial lifecycle from submission to final decision. This role serves as a key liaison between authors reviewers and internal editorial teams ensuring a fair efficient and highquality peerreview process. The Assistant Editor applies scientific expertise and editorial judgment to support the integrity impact and growth of Wileys journal portfolio including titles such as Advanced Science Advanced Materials Angewandte Chemie Chemistry Europe journals Small Physical Status Solidi and Macromolecular journals.

Key Responsibilities

• Screen new manuscript submissions for scope scientific quality originality and research integrity
• Make initial editorial decisions and provide clear constructive decision rationales in line with journal policies
• Identify and escalate potential ethical or integrity concerns using established procedures
• Select invite and manage peer reviewers to ensure timely and highquality reviews
• Evaluate reviewer reports and make editorial decisions (accept reject revise or refer)
• Assess revised manuscripts and author responses to determine next steps
• Recommend suitable alternative journals within the portfolio when appropriate
• Commission articles special issues and invited content aligned with the journals strategy
• Engage subjectmatter experts to contribute reviews commentaries and other commissioned content
• Track and manage invited content pipelines and contributor communications
• Analyze editorial performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with senior editors and editorial teams to share knowledge and best practices
• Participate in training and development to build proficiency in editorial systems and workflows

Qualifications

• MSc PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant academic discipline
• Hands-on clinical experience as a nurse preferred
• Research experience in one or more of the following areas of Nursing subjectmatter expertise: Nursing Practice Nursing Care Clinical Nursing Nursing Education Patient-Centered Care Advanced Practice Nursing Evidence-based Practice (EBP) Advanced Clinical Practice Public Health Health Sciences Psychology Healthcare Policy Community Health or related areas
• Experience with scholarly publishing or peer review as an author reviewer or editor
• International research experience outside the candidates home country is strongly preferred
• Strong analytical decisionmaking and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with global stakeholders
• Demonstrated interest in science communication and continuous learning
