The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store ensuring smooth store functioning customer satisfaction inventory accuracy sales achievement and effective team management.
The role requires strong operational people-management customer-service and inventory-management skills.
- Support the Store Manager in managing daily store operations.
- Ensure the store is clean organized and maintained according to company standards.
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor daily sales transactions and operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and operational policies.
- Supervise and guide store staff during daily operations.
- Allocate duties and prepare staff schedules as required.
- Train employees on customer service product knowledge and store procedures.
- Monitor employee attendance discipline grooming and productivity.
- Motivate the team to achieve store objectives.
- Support achievement of daily monthly and annual sales targets.
- Monitor customer service standards and resolve customer concerns.
- Assist customers with product-related queries and ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Support promotional activities offers and product campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer retention.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate product availability.
- Assist with receiving checking tagging and storing inventory.
- Conduct regular stock audits and physical inventory checks.
- Identify damaged expired slow-moving and fast-moving products.
- Minimize stock loss wastage and inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure products are stored according to prescribed requirements.
- Monitor billing operations and ensure accurate transactions.
- Support cash handling cash reconciliation and daily closing procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation of sales and returns.
- Escalate billing or cash discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Ensure adherence to company policies SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain required store records and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of pharmaceutical products where applicable.
- Follow health safety hygiene and security procedures.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly operational reports.
- Track sales and inventory performance.
- Report stock discrepancies operational issues and customer complaints.
- Provide regular updates to the Store Manager.
- Graduate in any discipline preferred.
- may be preferred for pharmacy operations depending on the role and regulatory requirements.
- 25 years of experience in retail pharmacy supermarket FMCG or store operations.
- Prior supervisory/team-handling experience preferred.
