Mid-to-Large Deal Ownership: Act as the primary technical lead for mid-to-large enterprise deals. Take full ownership of the technical sales cycle from initial discovery and requirements gathering to the final solution presentation.
Automation Scoping & Strategy: Move beyond basic scripting to identify strategic automation opportunities. Assess customer environments and internal workflows to scope out where zero-touch provisioning API integrations or RPA can be applied. Define these requirements clearly for the Automation Team or Architect I to execute.
Technical Discovery & Whiteboarding: Lead interactive customer workshops and whiteboard sessions with IT Directors and Network Managers. Uncover deep technical pain points and map them directly to our SD-WAN cloud and modern telecom portfolio.
Solution Architecture & Validation: Design comprehensive scalable network architectures. Oversee the generation of accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical RFP responses ensuring everything is technically viable and aligned with delivery capabilities.
Mentorship: Guide the Architect I in understanding the actual customer requirement and solution design
Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a bridge between Sales Delivery and Product. Ensure the solutions you architect are deployable by the delivery team and provide structured feedback to Product Management on mid-market feature requests.
Youll need to have:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Telecommunications Information Technology or a related engineering field or four or more years of work experience.
Four years of relevant work experience.
Two or more years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales systems engineering or solutions architecture role.
Advanced Networking Knowledge: Deep understanding of enterprise architectures including SD-WAN complex routing/switching (BGP OSPF) firewalls VPNs and legacy telecom transitions.
Automation Acumen: Strong ability to identify automation scope. You must understand how APIs work (REST/JSON) and how tools like Python Terraform or Ansible integrate into a network even if you are no longer writing the code from scratch every day.
Cloud Integration: Practical experience designing networks that connect securely to public cloud environments (AWS Azure GCP) and understanding cloud-native networking constructs.
Presentation Skills: Proven ability to translate complex technical architectures into business value for mid-level technical decision-makers (Directors of IT Network Managers).
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Mid-level industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP (Enterprise or Security) AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate MEF SD-WAN Professional or equivalent.
Experience navigating the transition of legacy MPLS networks to modern internet-first SD-WAN or SASE architectures.
Experience managing or orchestrating vendor relationships (OEMs) for specific components of a larger deal.
