Job Summary

The Application Support Manager Pharma/SM is responsible for delivering comprehensive pre- and post-sales application support for the pharmaceutical and CRO vertical as well as software solutions.

The role also involves planning and executing customer trainings product demonstrations workshops and scientific presentations both on-site and through virtual platforms.

This position reports to the Head-Application Support and is part of the Application Team located in Centre of Excellence-Bengaluru and will be an on-site role.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-sales application support for SCIEX platforms including Triple Quad (QQQ) QTRAP and High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) systems along with associated consumables.
  • Partner with customers to develop optimize and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS workflows ensuring robust and reproducible methods across QQQ and HRMS technologies.
  • Provide application expertise across key scientific areas such as analytical research bioanalytical studies and impurity profiling supporting diverse customer needs in pharma and biopharma environments.
  • Design and deliver customer-centric trainings product demonstrations workshops and scientific presentations both on-site and virtually to enhance user capability and product adoption.
  • Lead advanced technical troubleshooting addressing challenges in sample preparation instrument performance data acquisition and data interpretation ensuring high customer satisfaction and uptime.
  • Lead coach and develop a high-performing team (45 associates) establishing clear objectives role clarity and accountability while aligning team goals with broader business priorities.
  • Foster a culture of ownership collaboration and continuous improvement through structured mentorship regular performance feedback and recognition initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation including application notes SOPs training resources and knowledge-sharing materials to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Marketing Service and Product Management teams to drive business growth enhance customer experience and support strategic initiatives.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by capturing field insights market trends and feedback and effectively communicating them to internal stakeholders to influence product enhancements and business strategy.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Postgraduate degree (././) or Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences Analytical Chemistry Life Sciences or related field.
  • 1520 years of hands-on experience in the LC-MS/MS domain or related analytical techniques along with proven team management and leadership experience.
  • Prior experience on Sciex LC-MS/MS platform in application support R&D analytical development QC or customer-facing scientific roles preferred.
  • Skill Sets:
  • Strong foundational knowledge of mass spectrometry principles and applications complemented by excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on exposure to High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) is highly desirable and considered an added advantage.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of personal and professional integrity along with strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven track record in training mentoring or teaching the use of separation science instrumentation (LC-MS/MS and related technologies).

Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role:

As this is field-based Job based out of Bangalore (India) and support to be extended majorly to Pharma & CRO customer across India. The role demands about 50-60% of travel within India.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience working within core Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) and bioanalytical laboratories in the pharma/biopharma domain.
  • Strong familiarity with regulated (GxP) environments including adherence to compliance standards and robust documentation practices.
