Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor ammonia refrigeration systems compressors condensers evaporators pumps and associated equipment.
• Carry out preventive predictive and corrective maintenance activities as per the maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical electrical and instrumentation faults in refrigeration equipment.
• Monitor system parameters such as pressure temperature oil levels refrigerant levels and compressor performance.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks abnormal vibrations and equipment defects.
• Ensure compliance with ammonia handling procedures and safety regulations.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities equipment history and operating parameters.
• Supervise contractors during shutdowns overhauls and major maintenance activities.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintain inventory records.
• Participate in emergency response activities related to ammonia leakage or equipment failure.
• Implement energy-saving and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and company safety standards.

Experience

• 58 years of experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Experience in food processing cold storage dairy beverage pharmaceutical or industrial manufacturing plants is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Screw and reciprocating compressors.
• Refrigeration control systems and PLC-based automation.
• Pumps valves cooling towers evaporative condensers and heat exchangers.
• Preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Reading P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Safety standards related to ammonia refrigeration.
