Purpose The Facility Manager is responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of an organization. The role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the facilitys infrastructure encompassing building maintenance security safety and space management while ensuring statutory safety compliance and safe workplace practices.
Core Responsibilities -
Building Maintenance and Operations:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of buildings equipment and grounds.
Ensure that the facility is fully operational with all utilities functioning proper
Manage maintenance contractors and service providers.
Health and Safety:
Develop and implement health and safety policies.
Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility.
Budget and Cost Control:
Prepare and manage budgets for building and facility maintenance.
Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving strategies.
Space Management:
Optimize space utilization to meet the needs of the organization.
Manage office moves and space allocation plans.
Vendor Management:
Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
Oversee and coordinate the work of contractors.
Sustainability:
Implement sustainable practices in facility operations.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Safety &Security:
Manage security measures and systems to protect property and personnel.
Coordinate with security personnel to ensure the safety of the facility.
Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health & safety regulations factory safety norms and statutory requirements.
Develop implement and monitor workplace safety policies procedures and SOPs.
Conduct regular safety inspections audits and risk assessments across plant office and common areas.
Conduct mock drills for fire safety emergency evacuation and disaster management.
Coordinate with external agencies for fire safety inspections and statutory approvals.
Staff Supervision:
Hire train and supervise facility staff.
Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
Competencies
Work Environment:
The role may involve working outside of standard business hours to handle
emergencies or perform maintenance tasks.
The Admin Manager may need to work on-call to address urgent issues.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as bending kneeling and reaching.
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC electrical plumbing etc.)
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation skill
Updated knowledge of all related compliances.
Qualification Knowledge & Skills required
The person should be act as Safety office as well. Need required certification & min 2-3 years of experience as safety officer.
