Senior System Engineer

Our client a reputable financial institution is seeking a hands-on System Engineer to support and enhance its mission-critical infrastructure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations infrastructure maintenance incident resolution and technology improvement across Windows Linux virtualisation storage and backup platforms.

• Own the operational health availability and performance of Windows and Linux server environments.
• Administer and enhance Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure including Active Directory DNS DHCP Group Policy Exchange and WSUS.
• Provide hands-on production support for enterprise Linux servers including troubleshooting patching performance tuning and root-cause analysis.
• Support VMware and/or Hyper-V virtualisation platforms storage backup and disaster-recovery solutions.
• Drive infrastructure upgrades patching technology refresh and continuous-improvement initiatives under established change-management procedures.
• Partner with IT Security to remediate vulnerabilities strengthen system security and support compliance requirements within a regulated environment.
• Support hybrid connectivity between on-premise infrastructure and cloud services.
• Maintain technical documentation operational procedures and infrastructure standards.
• Participate in a roster-based on-call arrangement and scheduled after-hours maintenance to support critical services.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in system administration infrastructure operations or production support.
• Banking or financial-services experience is preferred; candidates from insurance telecommunications data-centre MSP or large enterprise environments will also be considered.
• Solid hands-on experience supporting Windows core infrastructure including Active Directory GPO DNS DHCP Exchange WSUS and server patch management.
• Proven production support experience in Linux server administration preferably Red Hat or other enterprise Linux distributions.
• Hands-on experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V storage backup and disaster recovery solutions is essential.
• Exposure to Microsoft 365 Entra ID Exchange Online cloud platforms Ansible or Terraform would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a production environment.
• Good communication skills in English and Chinese; (both Cantonese and Mandarin are required).
• Willingness to participate in on-call support and occasional after-hours maintenance.
