Provides direct and indirect supervision to subordinate team leaders and professional employees performing diverse roles. This includes establishing three to five year plans/objectives and developing policies for the function/unit. Accountable for dept results and for activities or projects involving multi-functional teams. Work requires application of in-depth knowledge of professional standards and precedents in area of specialty. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and sets goals to achieve objectives. Establishes and recommends changes to policies. Develops or assists in the development of department budgets and goals. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel and serious delays in overall schedules. Provides direct supervision to others or indirect through subordinate supervisors and coordinates the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs methods and employees. Makes hiring and firing decisions. Reviews employees performance and recommends employee compensation; coaches for improved performance and disciplines as necessary. Provides final approval for subordinate managers/supervisors salary and performance recommendations. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills negotiation skills and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts directly with subordinates and peer groups; interfaces with senior managers on issues related to the area of expertise. Maintains positive relationships with key customers suppliers etc. who have a significant impact on the success of the organization.

Performs tasks such as but not limited to the following:

• Manages advises and guides regional commodity teams for allocation of constrained commodities.
• Identifies supply vs demand profile for all allocated products within Celestica and proportion by customer and geography and communicate allocation.
• Resolves critical shortages that have been escalated and work with senior executives of suppliers to increase supplier support of products.
• Consolidates and reports customer service or revenue impacting items and ensure no impact to Celestica in the marketplace.
• Manages team for establishing rapid component sourcing for new program introduction and inter-site product transfers across defined geography.
• Meets aggressive time schedules despite conflicting site priorities.
• Develops new strategic processes systems and a toolset to facilitate the sourcing process while maintaining strict controls.
• Directly manages a group of SCM employees or managers.
• Maintains responsibility for employee training performance measurement development motivation and recognition.
• Establishes department goals/ measurements and manages resources to achieve this goals.
• Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.

• Expert knowledge of the marketplace conditions for broad range of strategic commodities.
• Excellent knowledge of Celesticas global supply chain including strategic policies and objectives.
• Good understanding of global business environment and Customers business organization products and processes.
• Strong knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.
• Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.
• Expert knowledge of best of breed sourcing practices and methodologies.
• Strong ability to work effectively across functions and with Customers/Supplier to achieve Celesticas goals.
• Ability to evaluate prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to effectively lead manage train and motivate a diverse group of employees.

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g. data entry using a computer mouse using a calculator etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

• Seven to ten years of relevant experience

• Bachelors degree in related field (Commerce or Engineering) or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
