We are seeking to hire a Cassandra DBA to join Data team. The ideal candidates have strong operational leadership a service-centric mindset

Cluster Management: Install configure and manage Cassandra clusters. Add or remove nodes manage replication factors and maintain maximum uptime.

Performance Optimization: Analyze data access patterns identify bottlenecks and fine-tune JVM garbage collection and database configurations for scalability.

Data Modeling: Work with software engineers to design efficient data models partition keys and write optimal CQL (Cassandra Query Language) queries

Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use monitoring tools like DataStax OpsCenter Prometheus and nodetool/dsetool to monitor system health and resolve production issues.

Security & Backups: Implement data encryption access controls and establish backup/disaster recovery strategies

Capacity Planning: Forecast hardware storage and compute requirements based on projected business growth

Understanding of Cassandra internals (SSTablemeltable compaction repair gossip protocol consistent hashing) and familiarity with backup and restore strategies

Automation: Automate routine operational tasks and cluster provisioning using tools like Bash Python or Ansible

The following will be considered as a plus:

Use monitoring tools like DataStax OpsCenter Prometheus and nodetool/dsetool to monitor system health and resolve production issues.

Capacity Planning: Forecast hardware storage and compute requirements based on projected business growth
