As a Business Intelligence Engineer in the Network Design Insights (NDI) team within EU STEP team you will help drive data-driven decision-making across Amazons transportation network design. NDI empowers business and technology teams to maximize network performance while optimizing effort delivering actionable intelligence that spans the full project lifecycle from initial conception through post-implementation analysis. You will work on problems that directly influence how millions of packages reach customers faster more reliably and more cost-efficiently across Europe.

In this role you will build and maintain analytical frameworks dashboards and data pipelines that measure the impact of network design decisions on key performance indicators such as delivery speed network attainment and cost. You will support flagship programs including network optimization cycles fill rate recovery and AI-driven analytics tools. Success in this role requires strong technical skills combined with the curiosity to understand complex logistics systems and the ability to translate data into clear actionable business insights.

Key job responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines dashboards and reporting tools (SQL Python QuickSight/Tableau) to provide visibility into network design KPIs (speed attainment cost fill rate)
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify network defects quantify the impact of design changes and surface optimization opportunities across EU transportation
- Support network optimization cycles (CIP) by running modelling tools tracking expected vs. actual performance and producing post-implementation assessments
- Collaborate cross-functionally with network design science & technology operations and finance teams to ensure analytical outputs drive business decisions
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of core team metrics and automated monitoring mechanisms (WBRs alerts benchmarking systems)
- Produce clear structured analyses and presentations that make complex logistics data accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (Engineering Mathematics Statistics Computer Science Economics or related)
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- Experience with data visualization tools (QuickSight Tableau or similar)
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and deliver data-driven recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with AWS data services (Redshift S3 Glue Athena)
- Familiarity with supply chain or transportation/logistics operations
- Experience building automated data pipelines and ETL processes
- Exposure to statistical modelling or machine learning concepts
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent workstreams
