Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Define and implement laboratory strategy encompassing analytical methods equipment competencies organizational structure and quality control management
  • Establish and maintain laboratory governance frameworks to ensure operational excellence
  • Drive innovation and modernization of laboratory capabilities

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across Clariants global network
  • Serve as primary interface between laboratory operations and R&D production and other key functions
  • Manage external laboratory partnerships including audits performance monitoring and contract negotiations

Financial & Resource Management

  • Develop and manage laboratory budget ensuring optimal resource allocation
  • Lead equipment investment planning and capital expenditure decisions
  • Negotiate pricing and service agreements with external laboratories and suppliers

Continuous Improvement & HSE Leadership

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead Health Safety and Environment (HSE) programs within the laboratory
  • Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational targets are met

Digital Transformation & Systems Implementation

  • Provide leadership in the implementation and optimization of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Establish robust database infrastructure and document management systems
  • Drive digitalization initiatives to enhance laboratory productivity and data integrity

Performance Management

  • Track analyze and report on laboratory performance metrics
  • Implement corrective actions based on performance data

Foster a culture of accountability and excellence

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years with management in an international company.
  • Deep analytical chemistry knowledge
  • Fluent in English and French (C1 level required)
  • Digital mindset (SAP LIMS)
  • Leadership skills
  • Problem solving with a business orientation
  • Strategic thinking and vision-setting abilities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Change management expertise
  • Results-oriented with strong business acumen
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Education: Master engineer or PhD
