Our Client is a newly licensed Asset Management Firm in the vertical of a conservative legacy fiduciary business of over 50 years in the Nigerian Capital Market.As a critical success factor, we seek to work with a CEO of proven experience, expertise, and utmost integrity for this obviously challenging role given the current dynamics in the global as well domestic finance and investment management spaces.
The CEO s primary role shall be the provision of professional leadership at the highest level for the successful attainment of the firm s objectives as an asset management company. The same role shall be providing support for the group s overall business vision as it presses towards attaining a larger status in the finance and investment industry essentially from the buy side of the market.

Some of the expectations for this role are provided in the job description below:

Take overall responsibility for business development and growth.
Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
Report to the board of directors and keep them informed.
Work with the executive management to determine values and mission, and plan for short- and long-term goals.
Make high-level decisions about policy and strategy.
Provide inspired leadership company wide.
Develop and implement operational policies and a strategic plan for the business.
Develop the company s culture and overall company vision.
Work closely with the human resource department to ensure great hiring when necessary.
Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.
Oversee the company s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
Work with chief financial officer, chief information officer, and other key stakeholders.
Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed timely and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
Identify & address problems promptly and swiftly harness opportunities for the company.
Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company particularly in line with global industry best practices.
Establish effective and well-organized investment processes.
Design and put on the market, world class investment products of diverse features in serving investors varied interests.
Ensure consistency of clear and well-informed investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
Oversee the investment strategy unit within the company.
Help manage and uphold all client relationships.
Help organise regular investment reports and reviews, including quantitative and qualitative portfolio studies in line with global best practice standards.
Attend regular meetings, review quarterly financial statements and remain up to date with any important valuation or policy changes.
Keep business in consistent exposure and alignment with global industry trends and growth strategies.
Regularly train and provide other germane training opportunities for the staff.

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills for this role includes:

  • A cognate first degree.
  • An ACA, ACCA, MBA, ACS, CFA, CFP, CIPM or any other related professional qualification in the finance and investment field is an advantage.
  • Should currently be SEC-registered as a sponsored individual.
  • A minimum of 15 years experience with at least 5 years in the senior/top management role in Investment Management or Investment Banking.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Nigerian Capital Markets and SEC rules and regulations.
  • Good working experience with a Fintech (especially in a digital marketing role) would be an advantage.
  • Good product development and portfolio management capabilities.
  • Excellent customer relationship development/management skills.
  • Effective team player and motivator.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word applications.
  • Sound communication, writing, and presentation skills.
