Head Chefresponsibilities include:

• Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and other food preparation workers
  
• Planning and developing menus
  
• Estimating food requirements and costs, and ordering or controlling purchasing of food supplies
  
• Inspecting kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning
  
• Investigating complaints about meals, sanitation, or service, and taking corrective action
  
• Monitoring sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
  
• Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
