About the Role

At Broadcom our Mainframe Software Division is at the forefront of bridging mission-critical enterprise systems with modern development paradigms. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers focused on building cutting-edge DevOps CI/CD Testing and Source Control Management (SCM) integration solutions.

In this role you will play a pivotal part in modernizing enterprise software development.

What You Will Do

• Lead and Mentor: Build manage and empower a high-performing team of software engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence collaboration and continuous learning.
• Drive Product Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality scalable and secure enterprise software solutions.
• Champion Modernization: Guide your team in developing tools that integrate traditional mainframe environments with modern DevOps pipelines Git repositories and CI/CD toolchains.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Product Management Architecture QA and UX teams to define product roadmaps prioritize backlogs and translate customer needs into technical deliverables.
• Promote Agile Excellence: Drive Agile/Scrum methodologies within your team removing blockers and optimizing workflows for maximum efficiency and predictability.
• Ensure Technical Quality: Uphold rigorous code quality and security standards promoting best practices in automated testing code reviews and architecture design.

What You Will Bring

• Leadership Experience: 12 years of overall professional experience 3 years of experience directly managing software development teams.
• Technical Foundation: A strong background in software engineering (e.g. Java TypeScript C or modern web frameworks) with a solid understanding of software design principles.
• DevOps & CI/CD Expertise: Deep familiarity with modern development workflows including Git Jenkins GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD and version control tools.
• Enterprise Mindset: Experience building scalable enterprise-grade software. Understanding the complexities of highly regulated or mission-critical environments is a strong plus.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between highly technical engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Educational Background: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Stand-Out Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Deep experience with Source Control Management (SCM) systems.
• Knowledge of mainframe technologies (z/OS) or experience building tools for mainframe developers.
• A passion for Developer Experience (DevEx) and building tools that make other engineers lives easier.
