If you "heart" nerds, The City of Dayton, Ohio, is the place for you. Dayton boasts one of the highest concentrations of engineers and patents in the US, with aerospace and high tech bolstering its economy. Dayton is run by a commission, comprised of the mayor and four commissioners who are elected for four-year terms. The commission passes ordinances and resolutions, adopts regulations, and appoints the city manager. The manager oversees the day-to-day workings of about 20 departments that provide such services as water supply and treatment, police protection, and street and bridge maintenance. Dayton covers nearly 60 square miles, has more than 166,000 residents, and an annual budget of about $155 million.
