We are currently looking for a Forklift / Yard Person in our Lantz NS operation. Reporting to the Production Supervisor the successful candidate will be accountable reliable and safety conscious.
As an integral part of the production team at Shaw Precast Solutions the Forklift / Yard Person will be a leader who has the capability to ensure our team manufactures products to our highest standards.
Operating forklifts in various types of terrain.
Determining and attaching proper lifting attachments appropriately for transportation of raw and finished materials.
Working in a safety sensitive environment where rigging load securing flagging etc. will be required.
Performing thorough inspections and maintenance as necessary on assets.
Loading and/or unloading raw material and/or finished products for transportation.
Transporting raw material and/or finished products to designated areas.
Conducting and maintaining organization and housekeeping standards as directed.
Being able to or willing to learn operate other heavy equipment (e.g. loader) is considered an asset.
Patching (repair/rework) product as needed regardless of originating source.
Conducting inventory counts as directed.
Other duties as assigned.
Be safety conscious and actively promote a safe work environment.
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Take pride in the quality of their work.
Be a strong team player a self-starter and organized.
Remain flexible to work overtime to support operational needs.
Work with minimum supervision.
Work shifts as assigned (e.g. second shift).
Hold a valid forklift license or willing to obtain.
Have solid attendance and clean disciplinary records.
Knowledge of mobile equipment attachments and other applicable tools to be used considered an asset.
Must be able to lift to or greater than 50 lbs. as required.
