Position Title: RecreationistType:Temporary Full-time Adult Day ProgramCompensation: $27.66 $28.09/hour as per collective agreement# of Vacancies: 1 existing vacancyAbout the Role:As a Recreationist you will plan organize and conduct group and individual programs for the residents while also following guidelines regarding referrals or instructions signed by the Medical Director and/or professional therapists. Your work may also involve liaising with outside agencies/other recreationists professional organizations to promote growth of the role. Attention to detail is imperative as you will be recording and reporting resident progress establishing program priorities scheduling and program :Must have a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies Therapeutic Recreation Kinesiology or other related field from a community college or the ability to handle physical task demands and have good working knowledge of Peterson-Gunn theory of Activation/Recreation.1 to 3 years experience in a geriatrics environment or equivalent of qualifications and experience.
