Who we are
Our central role includes managing the provincial power grid in real-time overseeing and evolving Ontarios electricity market engaging with government municipalities and Indigenous communities and planning for Ontarios future electricity needs. Our employees play a key role in driving grid innovation protecting the system from threats advancing the provinces energy conservation programs and forecasting and procuring the electricity resources well need in the decades to come.
This is a non-unionized position that falls within the Human Resources business unit.

What youll do
In this role youll make a meaningful impact by contributing to the IESO team and supporting the electricity needs of the province through:
- Leading IESOs compensation programs including job design job evaluation job architecture salary administration merit and variable pay processes pay transparency initiatives and compensation frameworkimplementation
- Leveragingadvanced compensation and workforce analytics toidentifytrends risks and opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to business leaders
- Managing compensation governance practices to ensure compliance with legislation collective agreements and organizational policies
- Leading market benchmarking initiatives and compensation surveys tomaintaincompetitive and cost-effective programs
- Identifyingopportunities toautomatecompensation jobevaluationandTotal Rewardsprocessesimprovingefficiency dataquality andemployeeexperience.
- Acting as project lead for compensation-related projects including HRIS compensation enhancements and reporting solutions
- Supporting the broader Total Rewards function through participation in recognition pension benefits and wellness initiatives
Through your compensationexpertise you will provide strategic advice and solutions on:
- Job design job evaluation and job architecture
- Salary administration and compensation governance
- Pay equity pay transparency and legislative compliance
- Market competitiveness and compensation benchmarking
- Merit increases variable pay programs and compensation planning
- Collective agreement interpretation and unionized compensation practices
You will leverage your analytical and communication skills to:
- Develop compensation analyses reports dashboards and recommendationstoinfluence businessdecisionsidentifytrends andsupportstrategic workforceplanning initiatives
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders including Executive Leadership Team members
- Facilitate training sessions on compensation programs and practices
- Prepare business cases briefing materials project plans and supporting documentation
- Lead consultations and focus groups to gather feedback and improve programs
You will showcase your collaboration and project management skills by:
- Leading enterprise-wide compensation initiatives and system enhancements
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to implement Total Rewards programs
- Managing external compensation consultants and vendors
- Coordinating complex compensation reviews and resolving escalated issues
- Supporting labour relations initiatives negotiations and compensation-related committees

Compensation Leadership and Technical Expertise
- You have extensive experience leading compensation programs within complex organizations including both unionized and non-unionized environments
- Youpossessdeepexpertisein job evaluation job architecture salary administration market pricing compensation governance and pay transparency
- You havedemonstratedexperience interpreting and applying compensation legislation collective agreements and organizational policies
- You are recognized for providing practical data-driven recommendations on complex compensation matters
- You bring a continuous improvement mindset and experience implementing enhancements to programs systems and processes
Total Rewards Knowledge and Business Acumen
- You understand the connection between compensation strategies and broader HR functions including talent acquisition workforce planning benefits pensions and HRIS
- You have experience conducting compensation market analyses benchmarking costing and financial modeling
- Youpossessstrong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation including the Employment Standards Act Pay Equity Act Human Rights Code Pay Transparency requirements and applicable collective agreements
- You understand organizational design principles and how compensation programs support business and workforce objectives
Relationship Management Communication and Problem-Solving Skills
- You have exceptional consulting and stakeholder management skills and can influence leaders at all levels of the organization
- You excel at translating complex compensation concepts into practical business recommendations
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can develop reports presentations business cases and briefing materials
- You exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters
- You effectively manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
Project Management Skills
- You havedemonstratedexperience leading enterprise-wide projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Youpossessadvanced analytical skills and can interpret large data sets toidentifytrends andopportunities
- Youhave experience with HR technology platforms and compensation system implementations
- You are skilled in planning executing and evaluating programs and projects frominceptionthrough implementation
- You have strong vendor management experience and can effectively manage external partnerships
HR Technology Analytics and Process Automation
- You have advanced experience with HRIS platforms (e.g. Workday SAP SuccessFactors Oracle HCM UKG Dayforce or similar) and compensation modules.
- You have a proventrack recordof creating and managing dashboards and visual reporting solutions using HRIS reporting tools Power BI Tableau or similar business platforms
- You have strong data analytics capabilities including modeling trend analysis forecasting and workforce insights.
- You have experience automating HR and compensation workflows and improving business processes through technology.
- You have a form knowledge of HR data governance reporting frameworks and data quality management.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Human Resources Business Administration Finance or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of six years of progressive compensation experience at a senior consultant level
- Experience supporting both unionized and non-unionized employee groups
- Professional designation such as CCP CEBS PCP/PLP CHRP or equivalent is considered an asset
