The Challenge Ahead
As Superintendent Projects you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring BHPs systems processes and capital portfolio deliver safe productive and value driven outcomes. You will be accountable for developing prioritizing and assuring a rolling two year capital portfolio that balances value creation risk reduction and operational continuity.
Working within the Asset Engineering function you will collaborate closely with Governance & Technical Stewardship Operations Integrated Operations Planning & Technical Environment and Health Safety and Security teams. This role requires strong stakeholder leadership disciplined portfolio governance and a commitment to continuous improvement across a complex site based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop prioritize and resource the asset capital portfolio including portfolio level benchmarking and prioritization.
Lead and oversee a team of project resources to deliver the capital portfolio managing costs resourcing performance and delivery commitments.
Ensure safe accurate project plans and schedules are in place to support production and asset priorities.
Identify and engage key stakeholders understand their needs manage expectations and deliver outcomes across functional boundaries.
Coach and empower team members through regular feedback fostering an inclusive culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
Promote best practices motivate others to identify improvement opportunities and remove barriers to change through effective collaboration.
What Youll Bring To The Role
Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
Proven experience (10 years) in the resource or energy sector ideally within a site based environment and preferably in potash.
Demonstrated experience managing a capital portfolio including sustaining capital projects and stage gated project processes.
Capability to lead and coordinate small to medium sized teams including internal and external resources.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams.
Highly organized with excellent communication relationship building and influencing skills.
Work Location
This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy SK. The work schedule for this role is 8/80.
For those not living locally BHP provides relocation assistance to the local Jansen area. Alternatively you can enjoy the convenience and comfort of our onsite camp accommodation at Discovery Lodge during your shifts.
BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance temporary accommodations home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.
