Location: Vancouver (or surrounding)
- Supervise and coordinate field crews involved in the installation maintenance testing and commissioning of high-voltage substation equipment
- Lead daily field activities to ensure work is completed safely efficiently and in accordance with project schedules and client requirements
- Coordinate the installation of transformers breakers switchgear disconnect switches control buildings grounding systems bus work and associated electrical equipment
- Monitor workforce productivity material availability equipment utilization and subcontractor performance
- Conduct daily safety meetings field hazard assessments inspections and toolbox talks while promoting Aecons Safety Always culture
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations utility standards client procedures and company policies
- Review and interpret electrical drawings single-line diagrams IFC drawings specifications and construction packages to guide field execution
- Coordinate with Project Managers Engineers QA/QC personnel and commissioning teams to support project delivery and resolve field issues
- Participate in project planning activities including look-ahead schedules manpower forecasting and resource planning
- Support testing and commissioning activities ensuring completion of required documentation and quality records
- Track project progress and maintain accurate daily reports field records redlines and site documentation
- Assist with site logistics material management vendor coordination and subcontractor oversight
- Identify and proactively address project risks constructability concerns and schedule impacts
- Foster a collaborative work environment focused on safety quality teamwork and continuous improvement
- Diploma in Power Systems Electrician Electrical Engineering Technology Electrical Engineering Technician or a related electrical discipline; equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications will also be considered
- Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician as a preferred qualification
- 5 years of experience in high-voltage substation construction electrical utility infrastructure transmission or distribution projects
- Previous supervisory experience leading field crews subcontractors or electrical construction teams
- Strong understanding of substation equipment installation grounding systems protection and control systems and utility construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings single-line diagrams schematics and technical specifications
- Working knowledge of electrical safety standards lockout/tagout procedures and energized utility work environments
- Strong planning coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Excellent leadership communication problem-solving and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project documentation/reporting requirements
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and willingness to travel to project sites throughout British Columbia
